More mulloway for the Hastings River
Over March and April 2023, more than 35,000 mulloway fingerlings were stocked into the Hastings River as part of the NSW DPI Fisheries stocking program. We were lucky enough to tag along and see the release of these mini mulloway.
In 2021, 10,000 mulloway fingerlings were stocked into the Hastings River followed and another 10,000+ were released in 2022.
On upcoming Castaway charters, we’ll be collecting some mulloway fin clippings for NSW Fisheries scientists to help gain a better understanding of the growth, movement patterns and contribution of stocked fish to the local fishery.
