Q: WHAT SORT OF FISHING WILL WE BE DOING?

A: Castaway Estuary Fishing Charters specialises in light/medium tackle estuary lure fishing. We use a variety of lure types over the course of the day including soft plastics, vibes and hardbody lures. Prior lure fishing experience is highly beneficial, but not essential. 

Q: WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING ON CASTAWAY?

A: All fishing tackle is supplied on Castaway Estuary Fishing Charters and we also provide cold drinks (bottled water and soft drinks). Please remember to bring adequate sun protection (hat, sunglasses and long sleeved clothing is advised) and a rain jacket.

Q: HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN YOU TAKE?

A: Castaway is licensed to carry 3 people (two anglers + skipper/guide).

Q: IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT?

A: The minimum age for kids on Castaway is 12 years old (must be accompanied by an adult).

Q: CAN I KEEP MY CATCH?

A: Anglers are welcome to keep their catch. Please remember to bring a bucket or cooler to transport your catch. Castaway is required by law to comply with NSW DPI – Fisheries size and bag limits. Occupational Health & Safety policy also prohibits the guide/Castaway to process (clean, fillet etc) fish caught on charter. 

Q: HOW DO I PAY?

A: Castaway accepts payment via bank transfer, EFTPOS or cash. A 50% deposit is required 5 days before the charter date.

Q: WHAT ABOUT BAD WEATHER?

A: The guide will monitor weather and river conditions before your charter. If adverse weather is forecast the charter may need to be cancelled (full refund or charter rescheduling is offered).

Q: WHAT TIME DO WE START AND WHERE DO WE MEET?

A: Castaway Estuary Fishing Charters depart from 6am (spring and summer) to 7am (autumn and winter) unless otherwise advised by the guide. Please meet at McInherney Park boat ramp, accessed via River Park Road.
