Wow Its really getting close to Summer now and with spring in full swing plus a bit of recent rain in our rivers the season is shaping up nicely. Over the next few months there will be plenty of lure fishing options for my clients to choose from with Bass, Bream, Mulloway and Whiting plus every ones favourite the Dusky Flathead all possible.
If you have a preferred target species we can definitely accommodate your fishing.
Since the recent rain the Bass fishing has started to fire up and in recent trips we have caught plenty of fish on surface offerings and also on spinnerbaits and chatterbaits which are worked deeper. This month we have two trips to Glenbawn dam organised so keep an eye out for our results on the Castaway Facebook and Instagram pages, Castaway has some really sweet looking lures to run for the bass so looking forward to watching my clients use these in the coming weeks.
On the Flathead scene we also have some of the bigger lure fishing options available and by talking bigger lures i mean big, targeting trophy flatties both on big plastics and also on big surface lures. The thing is with this style of fishing the catch rate of your smaller table fish disappears but if your after fish from the Sixty plus up to the magic metre mark then this may be for you, I can show you how its done but you will need to specify that you want to target these crocodiles!
Recent trips have been quite productive with some great Bream and Bass action for our clients as well as a few of my regulars getting themselves a Jewfish or two in some cases (hey Paul!). We have not really targeted Whiting on surface as yet but it will be any time now till they show up in numbers worthy of targeting and we all look forward to these great sport fish.
For those who travel to Port for their Christmas trip try to get in early with your bookings as we are already getting plenty of days taken and i don't want anyone to be disappointed by missing out, also as always gift vouchers are available for Christmas presents for that aspiring fisho in the house. Thats it guys enjoy the pics I've got some gear to get ready for some Dam Bass Action! cheers see ya on the water .
