Summer Season Heating Up

Hi Fisho's , The Summer season has started and it has been great with some Excellent Bass still appearing in our catches. This season so far anglers on Castaway have put ten bass over the magic fifty cm mark and countless others that were very close!

The Macleay and Hastings rivers are performing well on Bass and with Cicadas already happening it is going to be a cracking summer on board for Bass and Bream on surface lures! Certainly a lot of fun so don't miss out bookings are filling quick.

Other species we will be targeting is the whiting which are now showing up on the flats and surface fishing for these speedsters is a very addictive form of fishing. Fatties are around in good numbers so plastics and hard bodied lures will be used as well. We Haven't been chasing our favourite target the Mulloway very much in recent times but they are still there if anglers want to target them.

In November I had the pleasure of fishing a bream tournament with Wayne Bale, my first in years. We finished in Fourth place which is really not that important, what was though was the fun factor! I had a ball and thanks Wayne for having me on your boat, cheers mate.

Most people who read my posts know that at Castaway fishing we also do the fish attractant Sax Scent, well this product just got better with a new handy squeeze bottle that has a carabiner to attach to your shirt, lanyard, tackle bag, shorts or trousers making it ready to use instantly when needed, the other good news is the price is also better with RRP of 12.95 not bad for the scent that gets used exclusively on Castaways lures and produces so many fish for our happy clients. Our product will be in Quality tackle stores before Christmas and if it is not in your local you can purchase online @ A great pressie for the fisho in your family. Shirts and Brag mats are still available also .

With Christmas on our door step remember Gift vouchers for our sportfishing trips are available and can be done over the phone easily.

Ok, everyone walks into the local tackle store and looks at the millions of lures on the wall and maybe you think Which one? well this months lure that caught my attention is the Chase Baits Wiggle Bomb, these lures have caught us Bass, bream and Flatties, mainly purchased as a bass lure for their weedless nature they have proven to be a go to for skipping under over hanging structure and they are very easy to cast in weed as well the strikes are crazy! check them out or use them on your next Castaway Bass trip.
